The Marvels Synopsis

Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has regained her identity from the tyrannical Kree and sought revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. However, unforeseen consequences leave Carol to shoulder the burden of an unstable universe.

While investigating a Kree-related wormhole, Monica Rambeau's powers intertwine with those of Kamala Khan and Carol Danvers. The three of them work together to determine why they swap places with each other every time they use their powers.

The Marvels cast

1. Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel: An Avenger and former US Air Force fighter pilot whose DNA was altered during an accident, giving her superhuman strength, energy projection and absorption, and the ability to fly. Larson has said that the movie will explore Danvers' character more deeply and her "complexities" after her origin story was presented in Captain Marvel (2019). Since the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Danvers has mostly been off Earth in deep space, with Larson saying that she "kind of became a workaholic, and she lost touch with her heart and with her family and friends."

2. Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau: An astronaut for S.A.B.E.R. who works with Nick Fury and has the ability to manipulate all electromagnetic waves. She is the daughter of Danvers' late friend and compatriot Maria Rambeau, and admired Danvers as a child. Parris said that "The Marvels" will explore more about Rambeau beyond what has been established in the Disney+ mini-series WandaVision (2021). She learned boxing to prepare for this role.

3. Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel: A human-mutant teenager from Jersey City who admires Danvers and wears a magical bracelet that unlocks her ability to harness cosmic energy and create hard light constructs. Kamala marvels at being around Danvers and Rambeau, her heroes, who producer Kevin Feige describes as looking like Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Vellani practices parkour, as it is closely related to Kamala's movements in the movie.

4. Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn: A Kree rebel warrior wielding the Accuser's hammer and bracelets identical to Kamala, who seeks to restore her homeland after a civil war. Director Nia DaCosta encouraged Ashton to prioritize his agility and strength in his training.

5. Park Seo-joon as Prince Yan: A charismatic prince from the planet Aladna who is Danvers' husband and ally.

6. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury: Former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. who works at S.A.B.E.R. in deep space with the Skrulls. Executive producer Mary Livanos described Fury's role in the movie as him being seen again with the "lightness" portrayed in the first Captain Marvel movie, again due to his comical relationship with Carol Danvers.
